Open Season - young black men

The amount of civil rights one has is based largely upon their race.  This is not a political statement - it is what years of practicing plaintiffs law in Maryland has taught me.  I have interviewed hundreds (if not thousands) of individuals who are seeking representation for alleged civil rights violations.  Through those interviews, years of litigating cases, reading court opinions, analyzing empirical studies and reviewing court statistics I have come to understand civil rights are much more appealing in theory than in practice.

Acceptable Malpractice

Attorneys who accept medical malpractice cases take approximately 1 out of every 30 cases they receive.  A colleague of mine who tracks his statistics very closely and reviews enough cases to have a statistically acceptable accounting accepts 1 out of every 31.42 medical malpractice cases.  Some cases lack merit.  Medicine is a complicated science and sometimes bad results occur, even in the absence of malpractice.  But there are a large number of cases we review where the malpractice is clear, but the damages do not support the filing of a medical malpractice claims.  I call these cases "acceptable malpractice."

Tort Reform Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them

The truth is always the worst enemy of liars.  Propoganda thrives on misinformation and people remaining uneducated about the truth.  Unfortunately most people are unwilling to become educated about issues, like "tort reform", and the propoganda machine rolls on with the facts getting steamrolled into the ground.  Take a minute, learn some truth, and reflect on the real issues of medical malpractice.

Helping People

We help people.  Those three words describe the very essence of what we do as plaintiff attorneys.  Yes we file lawsuits and seek recoveries and fight with insurance companies but what we really do is help injured people, their families and in many cases their heirs through the litigation processs.
